Tagged!

Lubos has tagged me. Here are the rules:

Grab the book closest to you.
Open to page 123, go down to the fifth sentence.
Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog.
Name the book and the author.
Tag three people.

Here it is:

"We traversed the ideological line into the theater of physical causes governed by natural law where you and I are subject only to the mindless action of matter instead of being engaged in a conscious dialogue with it. The Earth-centered universe is inward-directed, which we usually characterize as closed and negative, while the heliocentric universe is outward-directed, open, and, therefore, positive. Having lived under its domain for so long, we cannot imagine what it must have been like to exist in a cosmos like Dante's - in a world that permits the human voice to penetrate to all levels of existence."

from Behind the Crystal Ball: Magic, Science, and the Occult From Antiquity Through the New Age by Anthony Aveni

I haven't read this entire book, but it does have a chapter about Richard Feynman.

I'll tag CIP, Guy the Savage Farmer, and DHammett (because he'll do it even without his own blog).

Come on, guys, you've got to play along. Even Lubos did this one!
